As the number of people with COVID-19 in B.C. continues to rise, both the provincial government and the tourism industry are asking British Columbians to not travel outside their local communities in order to help stop further spread of the virus. These restrictions are in effect for five weeks, from Friday, April 23 through Tuesday, May 25, 2021. You can read more on the BC Government’s website here.
While travel within regional zones is not prohibited, you’re encouraged to stay within your own community. If you’re not sure which travel zone you’re in, check this map.
Travel for essential reasons, such as for work or attending medical appointments, is still allowed under the new restrictions. You can find a full list of permissible reasons for travel here.
If you have a reservation with us over this five-week period, and will be travelling to Naramata from outside of the Interior Health / Northern Health regional zone, or will be travelling for non-essential reasons, we would be happy to rebook your stay for a later date without penalty.
If you don’t have to travel right now, it’s safest for everyone to push your plans until after the restrictions have lifted at the end of May. In the meantime, stay local and support your own community, exploring your region and supporting tourism businesses in your own area. And then, when it’s safe to do so, we look forward to welcoming you to Naramata.
We know this past year has been tough on everyone, and we all need a break. These restrictions are in place to keep us safe, beat back this wave of transmission, and to save our summer.
